The Hoge-Barrett Group is a team of financial professionals with over 75 years of combined experience. Our focus is building lasting relationships that help clients achieve their long-term financial goals. We build investment strategies around an in-depth understanding of client needs and their unique investing experiences and objectives. We also believe it is important to maintain a client’s comfort level around their investment portfolio through education and straightforward advice.
Our team’s expertise, combined with the resources of one of the largest and most respected financial institutions in the nation, offers our clients a full range of professional financial planning and investment advisory services.
After consultation with clients, we create an investment strategy with a 'Core and Satellite' approach that involves balancing risk and return. The 'Core' consists of a suitable blend of equities, fixed income, and cash or cash equivalents. It represents the foundation of the strategy around which the more specialized 'Satellite(s)' can be added. The 'Satellites' are comprised of targeted alternatives that complement and diversify the 'Core' strategy. They seek to reduce market correlation and provide additional returns (or alpha) above the market returns of the 'Core' portfolio. 'Satellite' tactics we employ include:
After designing and implementing an investment strategy, we work closely with clients to manage their ongoing financial needs while working towards their long-term goals. To learn more about our 'Core and Satellite' approach, please click here.
Many people are puzzled by the inner workings of the financial markets, and the experts, or Monday morning quarterbacks, who frequently wax poetic on television shows and in newspaper articles, while contradicting the previous expert's opinion. What is one to make of it all? And how do you best invest in light of all the contradictions?
The answer is to work with someone who will be an investment advocate for you. While following news and trends is critical, the Hoge-Barrett Group believes it is more important to develop a close working relationship with our clients, by learning and working within their values, and by learning and working toward their goals. We have no obligation to certain products, and are not slaves to theory, as it sometimes clashes with real world events.
Only a small number of financial advisors have met the rigorous selection requirements to benefit their clients through the discretionary Professional Management Program (PMP). This select group must demonstrate the highest levels of professionalism over many years, be selected by senior management, and successfully pass the Registered Investment Advisor examination. These and other proven strategies and programs we employ on clients’ behalf include:
